Farm Livin' is the Life for Me

Today, we visited a farm.

But not just any farm.  We went to what I will now forever more call our farm.  No, I didn't by us a house, barn and a "back forty".  Although I wish I could.  I just want this family to adopt me.  The Chisholm family runs their own business selling raw milk, eggs and grass-fed beef and pastured pork products.  Bacon...

I'm so excited to see my name written on my mason jars!  I feel like it'll make me a legit hippie.

This is Bruce, who is six days old.  I wanted to buckle him into a car seat and bring him home with me.

Milo befriended this Pyrenees/Dane mix puppy.  I can't wait to see what he looks like in a couple of months.  Most likely I'll be able to ride him like a horse.  See, fun for the whole family!

Lucca was anything but entertained.  Good thing she had plenty of fingers to munch on.

Just a few of the proud egg donors.  It was pretty cold today so the majority of them were inside, but they can graze wherever they please on the property.  I don't blame them one bit for staying in the barn, the feeling is just now coming back to my toes.

All in all it was a great trip.  Definitely worth the 45 minute drive.  And the fact that the owner is awesome?  Bonus!

And, to make the day even better, when we got home the UPS man was blocking our drive because he was dropping off Milo's new chucks!

He is slightly obsessed with them.  I had to pry them off him before he laid down for nap, and I can still hear him whimpering in his room for his "red shooooooes".  Oh son, you were born into a Converse-loving household.  You'll always have a pair ready to go, don't you worry.

{All of the photos today were shot with the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.  Yes, I fell into its trap.  I'm a victim of the times.}
