Back in the Saddle

But was I really ever out?  School started up again, and here I am sitting on campus eating my yogurt and granola, continually amazed at how many weirdos I've seen.  I had to take this picture all sneakily so that no one could classify me as a freak.  Geek I'm okay with.  Freak would make me cry.

Kelsey and I have been texting back and forth about who has it worse.  So far, I've had to ride a short bus (seriously) and get silently judged by a girl when I told her I had two kids.  Kelsey found out her professor is her age.  I'm not sure who wins that battle.

Also- I never knew how stupid campuses were at the beginning of the semester.  Currently there is a pep band playing and people look all chipper and excited for life.  Can't December just get here, where no one talks except for the occasional mumble?  Gahhhhh...

And two girls just sat at my table.  Apparently my scowls and massive B.O. won't scare them off.  Dang.

  1. I can't believe I'm just reading this! Doh!!! Maybe those girls wanted to be your frand? I am happily making friends (even with girls in Sperrys and 'Norts') and some are even super seniors as myself. Here's to...how many more weeks? of collegiate bliss. I look forward to us supporting one another.

    1. I'm making friends, I promise. I just have to do it on my own terms or it doesn't go well!
