A Week of Firsts in Pictures

Tuesday, August 13th: Milo's First Day of Kindergarten

He looks so goofy and small in his oversized clothes.  But by the end of year his shirts will show off his adorable belly button because he has the longest torso I have ever seen, courtesy of his Grandpa Fally's genes.

Stahp it, Rahn.  STAAAHP IT.  I'm done, Rahn.
That probably doesn't make any sense.  Look it up and laugh at popular culture.  But really, Buggy, stop.  Stop growing, stop looking so much like your dad, and stop reminding me of how old I'm getting.

For the record: his teeth were clean, until he ate one of those waxy chocolate donuts Ms. Bogar had out for the first day.

This accurately describes Milo.  Off in another world, thinking about stuffs.

We're five days in to the school year and he has no idea what his classmates' names are.  He couldn't possibly be bothered with such menial tasks.

And on his first day I asked him what his favorite part was, and he said, "Probably when I made my girlfriend."

Oy.

Sunday, August 18th: Justin's First Birthday in the States since 2008

He did a burpee mile in 1 hour and 53 minutes.
We ate the homemade strawberry rhubarb pie I made.
We watched a movie together.
It was simple, and so very Justin.

I'm glad he's always home now.  It brings a certain peace.

Monday, August 19th: Lu's First Day of Preschool

She originally packed a mini horse, a hair tie, and a quarter for lunch.

She is painfully shy until she feels it, and then she's off like a rocket.

I nearly cried looking at her nervous little face take the hand of her teacher.  "She'll be okay.  She'll be okay," was on repeat in my head on the way to work.  Turns out she totally was.

This pretty much sums up this morning.

Little Goose, leaving her last baby moment behind.

The days go by slow.
The years go by fast.
And there is absolutely no stopping it, no matter how hard I try.

  1. The pics in this post could all be framed. I especially love the one of you kissing Milo. I can't wait for our kids to hang out together in hopefully less than two weeks!

That's pretty much all I have to say. Milo looks like a Justin clone! My word. Also, the two of them in front of the door killed me a little. I love them. I wish we were closer!
