Forgive Me

Wow, I really suck at keeping this ol' thing up-to-date.  I'm going to go ahead and blame it on my children.  That's why I had them really.  Not so that they could carry on my legend, or take care of me when I'm old and wearing diapers (although that payback makes it slide in to a cool second place in my book).  It's so that when things go wrong I can immediately blame someone else.  Classy, I know.

Today I finished up all the necessary stuff I needed to get done to start my first ever semester of college at the University of Nebraska.  Woo!  Maybe not all that exciting to you, but this is HUGE.  It only took be five years to finally jump on that university band-wagon.  My theory is that I can work on it all while the young ones are still biting my ankles and when they're off to school then I can either wrap up my final year(s) or, if I'm lucky, be done with school and ready to enter the work-force again!  Isn't my outlook great?  Let's see if I can keep that morale for the next few years.

Isn't it funny how they make photos of schools look so prestigious and elite?  For the sake of Peter, it's Nebraska.

One of the hoops I had to jump through was a math placement test.  Oh Lordy.  The last math class I took was in 2003.  So yeah, it's been awhile.  I got enough right that the proctor didn't laugh directly at me while grading it, although I am pretty sure I heard her chuckle as I left the room.  Whatever.  No big deal.  Who uses that stuff anyways?

I have high hopes for 2011.  Now I just have to get through the rest of 2010, and right now that seems impossible, all thanks to Milo and Lucca.  See?  It's THAT easy to make it their fault.  Go ahead, try it out.  You just might like it.

  1. One of my favorites for using the kid(s) as an excuse is when you're out later, but don't want to be anymore; however, you don't want people to think you don't want to hang with them anymore it's all, "Well, I should go home and get this little guy to bed." Works every time!

p.s. Congrats on getting started with the whole college-thing!
